ENHANCING QUALITY EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDGS) IN NIGERIA
Abstract
This paper examined the enhancing Quality of Education for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Nigeria. It also appraised on how to improve the quality of education and implicated the fact that once quality education is assured, the outcome of it is development. Moving further, the educational administrators have a lot to do for schools to achieve their goals of ensuring quality education. However, it was observed that in higher institutions of learning despite accreditation by expectative agencies, they are found wanting in the area of enhancing improved quality education and hence stunted achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs). It was observed that corruption and examination malpractice are identified to be hindering every efforts made towards achieving enhanced quality education that could guarantee sustainable development goals (SDGs) in Nigeria. In view of the above, it was recommended amongst that, the Agencies established for accreditation in Nigeria should strengthen in ensuring instilling consciousness on the educational stakeholders in achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs). Also the educational administrators/managers should faithfully carry out their duties and concerted efforts be made by stakeholders in education such as parents, teachers, school proprietors and the society in ensuring that corruption and examination malpractice are reduced at breast minimum in schools. Conclusion were made and the implication drawn.
