TOWARDS A BETTER EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN NIGERIA

Abstract


Education is the key to all round development of the nation and its citizens. This work calls for a better education for sustainable development in Nigeria and its holistic positive influences on Nigerian citizens. Education, for instance, has impacted positively on civilizations, cultures and peoples; it has thus contributed some good values to the whole world. The United Nations 17 goals for sustainable development emphasize the need for quality education and stress among other values the importance for an individual to live a worthy life in order to be useful to the society he/ she is representing. It went on to recommend that proper workshops and seminars should be organized to encourage citizens in participating in the activities of learning one skill or another. Furthermore it urged the governments at all levels to be releasing grants and loans to their citizens to help ease survival.
