UNEMPLOYMENT IN THE POST COVID-19 PANDEMIC OF THE 21ST CENTURY: COUNSELLING AND EDUCATIONAL IMPLICATIONS

Abstract


This paper examined unemployment in the post covid-19 pandemic of the 21st century: counselling and educational implications. It highlighted the concept of Covid-19 as well as concept of unemployment. It also discussed the effects of Covid-19 on employment. It further presented the counselling and educational implications for promoting employability skills needed in the labour market today which is highly competitive and choosy in order to reduce unemployment rate in the post Covid-19 pandemic of the 21st century. Again, it looked at employment counselling as what should be made an imperative validity in the post Covid-19 pandemic of the 21st century in order to reduce the unemployment rate. Thus, employment counselling could be a huge information source for the provision of employability skills needed which the employers of labour look out for from the job seekers during job interviews. The paper suggested solutions that would help, if adopted and implemented, reduce the high rate of unemployment around the world in the post Covid-19 pandemic of the 21st century. The paper puts much premium on the capabilities and capabilities of governments around the world to solve unemployment challenges. This project can be implemented with effortless ease if there is greater cooperation and collaboration among peoples and nations.
